In this podcast, we have Charlotte Howlett, the head of Upstream Intelligence. She gives us a brief overview of her background and an introduction to the Upstream Intelligence podcast channel on the EKTi Interactive Oil and Gas Podcast Network.
About the Experts
Charlotte has been with our company, FCBI Energy, for just over a year and a half. To date, she has worked across, and now leads, our nuclear and oil and gas sectors. She has also been involved in numerous research projects, content production and industry events.
Charlotte studied psychology at Loughborough University. During her final year, she participated in the “Tomorrow’s Leaders” Programme run by the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. This involved participation in educational and development activities that linked to leadership development.

In parallel with a 25-year career oil and gas career, Marty has spent 15 years providing custom “blended and e-learning” training programs to a variety of technical audiences.
He has global upstream and downstream operations management experience with Schlumberger, Superior Oil-Mobil, Wilson Industries and Exxon, and led the downstream supply chain practice at PwC.
He brings 18 years management experience with Schlumberger, Superior Oil-Mobile, Wilson Industries and Exxon.
Marty has worked with numerous national and international oil and gas company managements to help improve business performance across upstream, midstream and downstream operations.
Like many of the team, Marty is active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers and often presents at industry forums.
