If you’re like many of the rest of us, you cooled your jets this summer when it came to your networking, spent some more time with the kids, and maybe squeezed in a road trip or two.

Also, like the rest of us, you also resolved to get back in gear come September (and maybe have found it a bit difficult).

Well, half of September has already wiled away, but there is plenty of time to make things happen this month.  And what an important month it is!

Your potential customers or employers are also kicking back into high gear and making important budget and hiring decisions for 2015.

The oil and gas networking calendar for Houston and the surrounding area just for the second half of the month shows that there are plenty of opportunities to get some quality face time with your industry colleagues.  Here a few of our favorites:

DUG Eagle Ford – San Antonio, TX – Sept 15-17

DUG Eagle Ford

Yes the first one on the list is a few hours away, but the size and quality of Hart Energy’s DUG conferences makes it worth noting.

Also, with it’s focus on the Eagle Ford, right in our backyard, it’s impossible to emphasize enough the importance of knowing the latest of what’s going on in this play.

YPE Houston – Happy Hour plus Volunteer Night – Sept. 18

YPEThe YPE Houston continues to grow its reach in the area, and there really isn’t a better group for young industry professionals, or even those folks looking to get into oil and gas, to get involved with.

This months volunteer night will be held in conjunction with the Houston Food Bank’s F.R.E.S.H. young professionals and is sure to be a great chance to meet people and help out.

Oh ya, did we mention that food will be provided by Kiolbassa and drinks by Pabst Brewing Company? And it’s free! Be there.

SPE Gulf Coast Section – Community Service Information Session – Sept 19

SPE GCS - SPE Gulf CoastThe SPE GCS is having a session to discuss a novel high school-level science/math approach that supports their mission of supporting STEM programs.

The SPE Gulf Coast Section is the largest and most active in the SPE, and is a great group to get involved with for newbies and experienced personnel. If you like teaching and spreading the STEM word, this is the meeting for you.

University of Houston / Bauer School – Distinguished Leaders Series – Sept 23

UH Bauer Distinguished Lecture SeriesThis initial segment of the UofH Bauer School of Business Distinguished Leaders Series for the Fall of 2014 is featuring Philips 66 Chairman and CEO Greg Garland.

This free speaker series is sponsored by AGL Resources and is free to the public with the goal of “providing students, alumni, faculty and the community exposure to leaders in the energy industry.”

This is a truly amazing opportunity to hear a true industry leader discuss current trends and challenges facing oil and gas while networking with your peers. And it’s FREE.

Women’s Energy Network – 20th Anniversary Celebration – Sept. 30
